Client Brief

Our customer runs their own business and decided they wanted to be able to work from home rather than paying for an expensive commercial office premises in Norwich. 

A professional ecologist, the brief included creating a chalk landscape around the Garden Room, which we achieved by using reclaimed railway sleepers to create steps and a retaining wall, infilling them with locally sourced lump chalk.

Challenges & Solutions

  • Build time - 13 working days

  • Large drop in ground level towards the front, which was overcome by building shuttering boxes and filling them with concrete to support the foundations
